Radio Nowhere - London Calling

Posted by rdub . Filed under Recordings

Today’s feature is a tracked called London Calling from Radio Nowhere. Radio Nowhere is an alternative pop rock band from Oakland, CA, that sounds like Elvis Costello fronting Counting Crows. They’re releasing a 4-track debut EP for free from their website:

That website also keeps with the Music 2.0 trend by having a blog in which the band chronicles the source of their inspiration for songs, even posting original, rough sketches (something that we’ve never felt able to do for fear of sheer embarassment). It sounds good, though, and offers an insight into the mind of the artist: something that potential fans can connect with in a way that was never-before possible.

Check out Radio Nowhere at their website, or on Twitter, @radionowhere.  Or, you can just listen here:

Derek Jordan - Vaccine

Posted by rdub . Filed under Recordings

Breaking from the chill vibe of the last track, today we have a nice, heavy rock track from Derek Jordan, called Vaccine. He describes his music as “rock music that sounds like a bull shark devouring your comfort food…”  We’d say his effective use of vocal chorus effects makes it sound a bit more like Ozzy Ozbourne back when he still had a functional memory, and with a slightly better voice.

But don’t take it from us, just give it a listen:

Derek Jordan can be found on his web site:, on Twitter, @DerekJordanRock, or, in keeping with Music 2.0 (as they’re calling it), Derek has a blog covering his progress of recording his upcoming album, which you can find here:
