Ryan Du Bois

History

Born and raised in California, Ryan hails from Sacramento.  He was born in 1984, and has never stopped getting himself into trouble.  Two years later, he moved to Houston, TX for two years.  After that, it was back to California for the remainder of his life.

Having played Alto Saxophone since 4th grade, Ryan developed a taste for the more versatile sound of the guitar sometime during high school.  Starting with his senior year, when he taught himself to play, he hasn’t put down the guitar since — always striving to innovate his sound with new ideas, effects, and techniques.

Ryan studied Computer Engineering at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, and received his bachelor’s degree with honors in December 2005. During his studies at Cal Poly, he formed a band and recorded his first album, Manner of Speaking.  After college, he decided to keep the jam sessions happening as much as possible, and has played a few shows in his home town of San Francisco since then.
